The University of Leicester is in the top 200 universities worldwide. Its strategy is marked by a belief in the synergy of research and teaching. With over 23,000 students and 3,800 staff, including over 1,200 active researchers, we believe a university should empower, inspire and innovate.
The College of Science and Engineering in the University has been a centre of excellence for materials research and computational modelling which span two College Research Themes: Materials and Computational Modelling. Materials Research is a strategic direction of the College. Currently materials engineering and modelling delivers over 5-million pound portfolio of projects. In particular, the College has an international reputation in materials, multi-scale and multi-physics modelling of welding and casting, developing and applying innovative computational algorithms for large scale computational analysis
