The GeoHex team are celebrating Earth Day this Saturday, 22 April 2023, with the theme of ‘Invest In Our Planet.’
This is the first time that an Earth Day theme has been continued across two years, with the focus aiming to engage businesses, institutions, governments, and individuals around the globe to do their part.
It is about everyone being accounted for and everyone doing bit for the future of the planet.
Geothermal energy has the potential to provide more than enough energy to meet the needs of the entire planet. This reliable and sustainable ‘always on’ energy resource is environmentally-friendly.
Although it is much cleaner than traditional fossil fuels, geothermal energy still has its challenges, primarily related to accessibility and cost. The highly corrosive, high-temperature environments associated with geothermal are particularly challenging.
The GeoHex consortium has been able to draw upon experience in other industries to advance geothermal through the development of heat exchanger (HX) materials, addressing both the improvements in the anti-scaling and anti-corrosion properties as well as the heat transfer performance of the HX material
This is just some of the good work we have been doing to promote and create a cleaner future for the planet through geothermal development, and we hope you can join us in doing something, however small, to ‘invest in our planet’ this Earth Day.
