The latest issue of Heat Exchanger World includes a GEOHEX project update in the magazine’s ‘community update’ section.
Available to read online, the GEOHEX update appears on page six and provides details of our recent consortium webinar where information was shared related to our work on ‘Novel Coatings for Geothermal Heat Exchangers.’
These coatings have been developed to protect critical components from scaling and corrosion through the use of metal alloy compositions that form a stable amorphous structure.
Working to take the developments from lab scale to a full equipment scale by increasing the testing from small coupons to heat exchanger test rigs and small but representative heat exchangers.
The coatings not only offer improved anti-scaling and anti-corrosion properties in comparison to current solutions, but also improve heat transfer performance to provide improved efficiencies and lower costs.
